HOW TO SET YOUR WEIGHT LOSE GOAL
After birth of her cute baby boy, my sister gained lots of weight in quite a short while. The weight was too much on her and she could lament over and over on the discomfort it brings. She was unable to move around freely, walk faster or do chores effectively.
Keeping in mind she is a mother and expected to be multitasking around her home, she felt that she was being too slow even from her own judgment. Whenever I went to see her ,all she could talk about is how she was trying to shed off that weight yet gaining it right back just as soon as she had finished with her super fasting technique that she had adapted of losing weight fast and keeping it off.
I would ridicule her over it that she should not eat at all but that was unachievable. She had to breast feed her son so her not eating was a strategy out of line.So my intention of writing about how to set your weight lose goal was geared to helping my sister shed off some weight and also any lady or man out there struggling to loose some weight.
I continued with my ridicule and I remember one day me telling her the best strategy was get into a bit of stress and that it would be a sure way of losing that weight fast, yes that was the advice I had proposed to her husband to induce stress but no! no! that wasn’t right. Until I realized it wasn’t funny on her any more, she seriously wants to cut out a few pounds and yes she tried indeed God knows she has and nothing seem to work ,this lead to her frustration.
Honestly with all the fat deposited around her belly had developed a “pot” as its famously known , the increase in size all around her body ,trying to shed it but it nothing works ,also the weight made her look much older than she actually is and who wants to look old ? Surely one would definitely be frustrated.
After noticing her frustration, I took it upon myself and thought that maybe she was doing it the wrong way. For a goal to be achieved one has to set strategies to get them there and focus on them. Today I will share with you the list I did and gave my sister on how to set your weight loss goals and what to do to achieve this goal Oh! by the way it worked as you should she her now , she doesn’t look nobody’s mom.
First: Set smart goal
First your overall main goal is to lose weight and you need to do that fast. Knowing this you have to make it relevant to you. From my experience all Kenyans wish to own land someday and to most it’s a goal -the same way as you are demined to buyimages that piece of land in “Kile”- kileleshwa or that BMW. It should be a goal set and Smart. Smart goals are specific, measurable, Accountable, Realistic and Time sensitive.
Set a specific goal
In as much as all you want is to lose weight fast, its sounds too vague, you need to narrow it and be more specific on how much weight you want to lose and why do you want to lose it. What exactly do you want to achieve in losing weight? What do you really want?
As for the case of my sister she wanted to be flexible enough to do her own chores fast and effectively and she didn’t like that she looked older, these were the two main reasons for her to want to lose weight. Make your goal very specific, like “to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks” and having your reasons to back it up will give you more focus.
Make you goal measurable
By setting a specific goal like “To lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks”,you ought to get to know how much you are to do to achieve it. For example, if the exercise you will indulge in is swimming, you need to know how many laps are you to swim, for how long and in how many days you will swim each week or entirely to achieve that goal.

Truth is we have busy schedules indeed. Most of Kenyans move from work, to a client meeting, to evening classes, to dinner or coffee at java. All these consume time, so if you can barely get an hour free in your tight schedule, better not set up yourself for failure. Say you say, you will hit the gym immediately after work and that’s the same time that important client will be available for a meeting –you will definitely lose one.
The other option is you will be forced to choose an event to cancel from your schedule and replace it with you lose weight strategy like take dinner at home and use that scheduled time to do your exercises. With my sister’s case she had to wake up early finish her chores early and between 10 am- 12 noon that was her ideal time to apply her lose weight strategies and the little toddler made it easy as it was his sleeping time too.

You already set your specific goal earlier but does it make sense. Yeah we Kenyans do give up, we know ourselves that too well, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get to the goals, else we’ll get discouraged and do that which we know how to best ,Give up. Goals are definitely challenging but one should try and not make them overwhelming.
Setting a goal to lose 10 pounds in 1 week is considered unhealthy by doctors because even with the smartest plan and determination, our bodies have a limit they do not go beyond.
Your goal should be Time sensitive
You know how much that BMW costs right? and how much you have in your account right ? With these information with you and as smart are you are, you do not wish to live your entire life just saving for one thing , strategies are in place and among them is time frame. You need that high class ride by 2016 and you sure know how to get there. It also applies in losing weight you can’t be swimming extremely every year neither do you want to grow as thin as a needle nor keep on cancelling your java Coffee date with your dream guy .
So have deadlines for you but at times it may take longer than anticipated. With review on your progress and seeing some positive results you will be more motivated to achieve the ultimate goal. Within a span of 4 months the woman looked so much better, I wish I could post her before and after photos , oops! I only have a after photos maybe next time.
