ARE MY LOSE WEIGHT GOALS REASONABLE?
Having a goal is one of the most sober things a homo sapiens can have. A goal towards something, it could be a short term daily accomplishment or long term. A goal is a goal having one is what makes life worth, you live towards something.
Goals are formed with internal desires, wants. It is very much expected of every being. Some who has no clearly defined goals in their lives tends to appear visionless, unfocused and will generally be undesirable. We tend to get attracted to people who are looking forward to the future, to be some one great, somewhere on top.
That I know for sure. So with the goals we have formulated for ourselves and having put strategies in place, are these goals and the strategies realistic? that‘s one question we all ought to ask ourselves! Yes you have “To lose 10 pound of weight in one week” as your goal and have all the exercises to do, food to avoid, reasons on why you need to lose weight? why do you need to lose weight fast , steps to losing weight all that put in place but hold on before you go far , is this goal reasonable! How the hell do you lose 10 pounds in 1 week? kwani you want to be a model in a fortnight ?!And even if you do, that is so absurd and unhealthy.
You need to ask yourself, Are my lose weight goals reasonable?
You are literally subjecting your body to a kind unreasonable strain. Only 2 pounds ranges the maximum weight one is expected to lose in a week. To achieve a goal one has to strain but have a limit to it more so if it’s matters to do with losing weight and your general health, you need to be very cautious on what you subject your body to else have a relapse.
To avoid issues of relapse or unexpected health issues, I am going to highlight what you need to be checking on while at the same time achieving your goal on losing weight.
You need to have reasonable weight-loss goals.
Your health
To lose 10pounds in one week sounds good, people will be shocked on how you did it, your family friends will applaud you on your efforts but have you considered what it will do to your health immediately or in the long run ? Do the congratulatory messages have meaning if your health is at risk? I bet not! and are you even legible to lose weight anyway?
Here in Kenya precisely in Nairobi, people want to lose weight fast, so in the evenings and weekends the hit the gymnasium only after 3months to either be hospitalized or end up looking miserable. This happens, as many gym instructors do not consider the health issues of their clients, a client comes to him all he/she wants is to lose weight and pap! He is already on schedule only for the client to either, faint during exercise, have a relapse after the training period, or end up hospitalized.
This is so unfortunate so before you embark, find out if, you are healthy? And answer yourself this question, do you have heart issues? Chest or breathing problems? These are the most crucial health issues that when one are having, cannot participate in losing weight fast strategies unless a doctor permits and advices on how to go about it or propose a different losing weight strategy that will not involve too much exhaustion.
So you do not suffer any of the above and are now excited to begin. good, but just before start you need to know if your Body max Index is legible for you to lose weight . Your BMI should be above 25, this value is derived from weight and height of an individual.
Your Availability
You are probably employed at some organization or running a business. You are generally busy or involved in some work and you want to lose 10 pounds in one week. Well I personally believe in miracles but we got to be realistic here, Where is the time for this? or you have strategize you work out the whole night right? , it’s ok but keep it in mind that you are expected to report at work early in the morning and still need your rest in the night. You are allowed to argue and say you do not need so much sleep.
But FYI without sleep you won’t function, try it! Yeah it might work the first 3 days as you begin on your unreasonable goal plus extreme strategies on losing weight fast but as soon as you get to the fifth day, you will either be dozing on your desk/ counter, sending emails to the wrong address , giving more balance than required , confusing people names in your work place or at home – suppose calling your wife Ester instead of Agnes -we both know this will cause drama or worse still border the wrong mat and for those who drive a little traffic jam ,you are already dozing on the steering and all other drivers yelling at you as they pass.
So please it has to be reasonable enough to be squeezed in your schedule and not overwhelm you, step by step and you will get there.
Progress
For one to know how they are prevailing they take note of their progress. At one time I was asked to answer a questionnaire about what were my thoughts about safaricom. My remarks were not as positive but I guess I did them a favour for they actually improved. Just so you know I had an issue with their customer care service. Pinch yourself and again ask yourself, Are my lose weight goals reasonable?
Similarly you too need to review how you are progressing. If you noted you lost about 3 pounds the first week but gained it back two weeks later , that should be a red flag that your strategy of losing weight fast isn’t reasonable
After careful analysis of oneself and consultation from various specialized individuals such as personal doctors, gym instructors or nutritionists. You will be more enlighten on what is required probably change your goal into a more reasonable one since while you want to lose weight you do not want emerging health issues nor risk losing your job or cause loses to your biz. Be wise.
